THE EPSILON PSI STORY

The Epsilon Psi chapter of Delta Tau Delta was established at the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a vision of fostering lifelong brotherhood and academic excellence. Since its inception, the chapter has served as a cornerstone of fraternity life on campus, dedicated to the values of truth, courage, faith, and power.

Our journey began with a small group of committed men who sought to build a community rooted in service and leadership. Today, we continue that mission, bridging the gap between our storied past and a vibrant future for all Epsilon Psi members.

FOUNDATIONS

THE EARLY YEARS

The Epsilon Psi expansion at USL began in 1967, embarking on a two-year journey alongside thirty-five founding fathers. This dedicated foundational effort culminated in 1969, when the Crescent Colony officially secured approval to be chartered as a chapter, establishing a lasting legacy of brotherhood at the university. Below, the original thirty-five charter members are pictured together at the chapter's inception.

Key Milestones

Epsilon Psi Charters

Officially chartered in 1969, this milestone marked the formal beginning of Epsilon Psi's legacy at the university. It was a proud moment for our founding fathers, solidifying a brotherhood that has thrived for decades through shared commitment and values.

Most Improved Chapter

In 1971, Epsilon Psi earned the prestigious honor of being named the most improved chapter in the Southern Division. This recognition reflected our remarkable growth and dedication to excellence during those formative expansion years.

Chapter House Renovations

During the 1973–74 school year, members repainted the chapter house as part of several significant renovations that modernized our home while preserving its architectural heritage.

A NEW ERA

CHAPTER REVIVAL

Following years of prominence, the Epsilon Psi chapter left campus in 1985. The chapter remained silent for over three decades, but the spirit of brotherhood never truly vanished. Alumni began reuniting in 2012 and holding reunions, sparking a dream of restoration. The official petitioning process to return to campus started in 2016, and in 2019, chapter consultants arrived on campus with one goal—to create a new generation of Delts at UL Lafayette.
